Some people tend to leave the wall on either side of the fireplace bare. Perhaps the thinking behind this decision is that they feel the fireplace creates enough of a focal point without needed any additional decoration.

In some cases, this is true, but in other rooms, leaving the area around your fireplace bare is not a good choice. Sure, the fireplace may be the focal point, but who wants the focal point in their room to look as though it is missing something?

Dressing up the walls around your fireplace is very easy, and requires only a couple of special touches. A brick fireplace lends itself perfectly to the placement of some metal wall decor. The brick and metal complement each other in a way that allows both to really pop.

When considering wall decor for the area around your fireplace, a fabulous option is decorative candle wall sconces such as the Brunna Candle Wall Sconce.

This diamond shaped sconce, finished in warm tones and a hammered look, will look great on either side of your mantle. A metal framed mirror placed in between will finish off the look perfectly.

Light the candles on the sconces when you want to create an atmosphere of warmth. You don’t have to spend a lot of time or effort to dress up your fireplace. It already adds a strong design element. Just a few touches and you’ll have a look that is perfectly polished.

One more day and we are in the new year.
Happy Holidays,
Reni
